Teary-eyed Stefon Diggs 'thankful' Patriots 'took a chance on me'

Stefon Diggs stood on the sidelines watching the Kansas City Chiefs celebrate beating his Buffalo Bills in the 2021 AFC championship game.

The 32-year-old wide receiver finally got a chance to celebrate a Super Bowl berth of his own after his New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos 10-7 in the AFC championship game.

Diggs was understandably emotional after the Patriots clinched passage to Super Bowl 60. It marked not only the first Super Bowl berth of his career, but also the culmination of a difficult year.

"I'm just so proud of this team man," Diggs told NFL Media's Cameron Wolfe during a teary-eyed, postgame interview. "You don't know how hard this year has been battling the injury and coming back."
