Colorado football lost its lone 2027 commit as a four-star cornerback will reopening his recruitment while leaving the door open to CU.

Entering Sunday, Colorado had one commitment to its 2027 recruiting class; now that number is zero. Cornerback Dolph McDonald announced on social media Sunday afternoon that he is decommitting from the Buffaloes, citing his desire to assess all his options since he is early in the recruiting process.

McDonald and his brother Xavier, a wide receiver, committed to the Buffs on December 6. New Colorado offensive coordinator Brennan Marion recruited the duo to Sacramento State when he was the head coach. Xavier was committed to the Hornets but flipped to CU after Marion got the OC job.

Dolph is a four-star cornerback and holds offers from Auburn, Ole Miss and Michigan. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 319 overall player and the No. 36 cornerback.

Based on his decommitment announcement, Dolph MCDonald is not ruling out Colorado, leaving the door open for him to recommit and join his brother.

Hopefully, for Deion Sanders and the Buffs, Dolph's decommitment does not prompt his brother to do the same as Colorado gets closer to the February 4 signing day.
