Even though Battlecat has two non-speaking appearances in the Masters of the Universe trailer, we may already know that He-Man's feline companion can talk. The Masters of the Universe trailer provided a brief preview of its CGI take on Battlecat, He-Man's usual sidekick in his adventures in Eternia.
Like He-Man himself, Battlecat's strength and appearance are derived from the Power Sword. When the unassuming and seemingly harmless Prince Adam activates the sword's abilities to transform into He-Man, the cowardly Cringer morphs into the ferocious Battlecat.
Since Masters of the Universe avoided showing Battlecat pre-transformation, exactly how it plans to adapt him isn't clear. In most cartoons and comics, Cringer can communicate verbally with the other characters in the story. It wouldn't be altogether surprising if the live-action Masters of the Universe movie scraps this aspect of the character, but it looks like that's not going to happen.
Masters Of The Universe Teases Cringer's Ability To Talk
Cringer scared with his eyes closed from the original Masters of the Universe cartoon
At the very beginning of the Masters of Universe trailer, Adam lists off some of the things that make Eternia feel like an unbelievable place, and one of the things he names is "talking tigers." The mention of "talking tigers" is a not-so-subtle reference to Cringer, who has his own personality and converses regularly with characters like Orko and Adam in the original animated series.
As it stands, there has been no official announcement regarding a voice actor for the cat, but based on this hint, Masters of the Universe will indeed allow some speaking lines for him.
That would be a positive sign for those hoping for a lore-accurate adaptation of He-Man's world. And looking at everything the trailer shows, from Skeletor's menacing design to the number of iconic characters shown, it's not hard to believe that Masters of the Universe wouldn't be afraid to feature a talking animal.
Will Cringer Appear In Masters Of The Universe?

The trailer's hint about Battlecat raises an additional question about his original form. Although Battlecat canonically can talk in the cartoon, he does so only rarely, as he's more of an action-oriented character, as opposed to the harmless Cringer. With that in mind, it would make sense for Cringer to do most of the talking in the film and for Battlecat to stay largely silent.

In the trailer, Battlecat can be spotted behind Adam prior to his He-Man transformation, when typically, he only transforms into Battlecat when Adam is in his "He-Man" form. But heading in this direction would be a drastic change to the source material.
